As a church we believe that Christ has sent us be be his witnesses from Harrow to the ‘ends of the earth’. We are all engaged to a greater or lesser extent in spreading the good news of Jesus in our words and our actions – where ever we are. In our homes, families, at work or at play, in offices, factories, schools, colleges, shops – in fact everywhere, all the time.
We’ve a long history of supporting Christian outreach around the world and at present we have the privilege of supporting Lizzie White in Peru, Rob and Debs Ng-Yu-Tin in South Africa, Amano School in Zambia and Kelvin and Joyce Samwata in Zambia.
🙏 🌍 Prayer News – 2020/21 🌍 🙏
Peter Oyugi Sept 2021
Is involved this week in aspects of planning for the Lausanne Europe Conversation on 17TH – 21ST November which is seeking to respond to this new reality by facilitating a process that, with the help of the Holy Spirit, can make a difference for a generation. They want to give fresh impulse to the proclamation of the gospel in every country of Europe, to see Biblical truth impacting every sphere of European society and to encourage Christians to influence the realm of ideas which shape the worldviews of today’s Europeans. He asks for prayer for peace in the Sahel where many African missionaries are facing attacks, kidnappings and some even death as they seek to take the gospel of Christ to places populated by Islamist extremists; for two African Refugee leaders he is mentoring as they engage in reaching the large numbers of refugees in Thessaloniki and Lisbon; and for the group of Darfurians in Lisbon that they will get to hear the gospel of Christ and find a venue to meet for fellowship and outreach. He needs sufficient financial support for his work.
Moving from Aim to MANI network. Cecilia has kept well over the past year. Purity and Catherine are making good progress with their studies as they each face their final year at university and High School respectively. Pray for God’s provision of support for my work which involves training and supporting outreach and mentoring efforts to those without easy access to the gospel.
Pray for ongoing mentoring sessions for 23 emerging mission leaders from across Africa which he is involved in facilitating alongside 4 other leaders. Pray that the process will be effective in developing leaders for the future. Give thanks for on-going opportunities to speak in conferences remotely and through recorded messages. The Australian mission conference went well in Sept and this past week he was speaking in a mission conference held in Nigeria but his session was pre-recorded. Over the next 5 consecutive weeks he has invitations to speak in UK churches in person so pray for it to be a blessing to all. The Family are keeping well. Purity and Catherine are both living at home and studying and Cecilia shielding now that the girls are going to university and school.

Hilary is planning to help with ‘Regen’ and looking into possibilities of tutoring in children’s homes after school.
Praise the Lord for a great send off from Amano Christian School in Zambia last December. I was sad to leave so many friends but I know it’s what the Lord wanted me to do. I’m gradually settling down in my flat back here in England and getting used to traffic, shopping etc. Thankfully I’ve been able to visit some family and friends now the Covid restrictions are lifting but there are still things I need to work through. Please pray for guidance about what the Lord wants me to do next; I’m thinking about tuition or something like that.
Praise for the way the IGCSE’s are going so far and prayer for perseverance especially as its getting hotter. Next week is half term so please pray that I’ll be able to get a lot of things sorted out both at the flat and in the office, it’s my last chance really because I leave very soon after the end of term. Also pray for a good handover and that all will finish well.
The folk at Amano Christian School need your prayers too because Covid is becoming more prevalent in the country and these last few weeks of term (until August 6TH) are all online because schools are closed. Some staff will change for term 3 starting in September, so please pray for the Lord’s help for those taking on new responsibilities for the last term of the academic year. Elections will be held on 12TH August so please pray for God’s overruling there and in both the run up and afterwards, people are able to accept the results.
Please pray for Hilary as she prepares to return to Britain permanently on December 10th . The link below has some specific and pictures from Hilary:

Dorothea need to find a successor to her church secretary role this autumn. The most valuable thing I do in my present state of health is probably the Facebook expositions, targeted especially at my old stomping grounds in Russia. I’ve been inexplicably banned and can get no responses to my questions. Please pray for that to be lifted. Please pray for God’s guidance and blessing on the three sessions Phil is doing at UCCF’s big student leaders conference. And for God’s protection from Covid at the conference. I’ve had various health explorations as lockdown has lifted. Please pray for God’s guidance about the next steps. Things are better with Steph
thanks for your prayers.
Who found the Moderator of the national Baptist Union Council has cosigned a letter from a national LGBT activist group asking the government to criminalize anything offering help to suppress desire for homosexual activity (which would obviously include prayer and Bible exposition), and with the explicit and stated expectation that such criminalization would mean that religious leaders successfully accused of doing so should be given a criminal record that would stop them following their vocation. It’s a quite astonishing example of how things have suddenly developed on this issue and what could soon follow. In Sweden and Canada pastors have been jailed for preaching on this. It is staggering that a national Baptist leader can cosign this, giving the impression that the Baptist Union supports this and so giving valuable ammunition to those who want criminalization of Christian leaders. Pete took it up with the Baptist general secretary and it turns out Council met on Wednesday and Thursday this week. He emailed a number of their members and was told it was too late to go on the agenda. Please pray for discussions to take place that will make clear the imperative to turn the Baptist Union back to a biblical position in general, and, for us to be spared legislation that could see a lot of Christian leaders criminalized.
Pete’s health has really deteriorated since June. A whole range of blood tests have come back all normal, so the question is unanswered as to what else has been going so wrong. On Thursday he spoke to the doctor and will value prayer that she has a brainwave as to what’s happening! Secondly there is a big implication. Does he expect from God His strength to do this job in his weakness, or rather is it the right time to step back from it?
Chris Ducker Oct 2020
Praise that last week at Redcliffe another year of students graduated, such a rewarding feeling. He has been doing some part-time work for Redcliffe but that’s pretty much over now. He needs of a full-time job and would love to continue working in the mission sector somehow!
Life for the Duckers is changing as he is now working as the Principal of ForMission College in Birmingham. He will commute to Birmingham so Helen can continue with her work and the children will not have to change schools.
They are closing the Mission Fund they set up with Link to Hope to support the work in Moldova. This fund was used to pay Youth Workers and their activities with children. There is less need for this help now as the work is more sustainable and less likely to result in long-term dependence.
