RICD Wheelchair Project – Thailand
(Project Supported by Medical Missionary News)

The RICD Wheelchair project has been functioning for 20 years to help individuals with disabilities. They provide mo-bility or assistive aids to specially fit the individual’s needs, while working with local hospitals and therapists to ensure people receive the correct medical care. They are also de-veloping a training programme to train and equip people from the hospitals and churches to continue supporting people with disabilities who live in their own communities. Through providing this support they are able to share the love of God and invite those who receive these aids to at-tend their local church.

HEAL Africa
(Project Supported by Medical Missionary News)

DR Congo has suffered over two decades of violence and conflict leaving the country in a state of devastation with many lives lost, extreme poverty, malnourishment and widespread disease. HEAL Africa focus on providing aid to children suffering the effect of malnutrition, but also supporting families to move from relying on humanitarian aid and allowing them to re-establish new homes, plant crops and generate income. With external support, HEAL aim to accomplish the following:

  • Give medical care to children admitted to hospital with malnutrition.

  • Provide food for 10 children per month who have been admitted with severe malnutrition.

  • Provide daily porridge for 200 vulnerable children per month.

  • Provide income generating kits for 120 women, to allow them to start rebuilding their lives.

Cambodia Action
(Project Supported by Medical Missionary News)

Through the organisation Sunrise, a medical clinic has been set up in the local prison to provide compassionate care to prisoners, reduce the spread of infection and provide any necessary medication free of charge. Since 2001, Sunrise has been working to help people suffering with HIV/AIDs and then began to run a clinic in the prison four days a week as there was an issue with AIDs and TB. Through offering free medication to prisoners, they become less of a burden to their families, many of whom have little money to survive, as this would be the only way of them sourcing money for medicine.
